STREAMLUX PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: May 8, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
StreamLux is a mobile application for Android and iOS that offers short-form video, direct messaging, private 1v1 video calls, social features such as comments and likes, virtual coins and gifts, in-app purchases, notifications, and profile and language preferences.
This Privacy Policy explains how Terry Imadonmwinyi ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the StreamLux mobile application. We are committed to describing our practices in clear, straightforward language, and to taking reasonable steps to help keep your information safe. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with it, you should not use the app.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information in the categories below, depending on how you use StreamLux and what features you choose.
a. Account information
• Username
• Email address, when you register or add one to a full account
• If you choose Google Sign-In (or similar social sign-in we offer), we receive information that Google shares with us for authentication and account creation, such as a Google account identifier and basic profile details (for example, name or email, depending on your Google settings and consent). Google’s processing is described in Google’s own privacy policy and sign-in screens
• Profile data you provide or make visible, such as display name, profile photo, bio, and similar fields offered in the app
• Other profile fields the app may collect, such as gender, date of birth, or country, when you provide them, including where needed for features such as content eligibility or call participation
b. User content (user-generated content / “UGC”)
• User-generated content means material you create or upload in the app, such as videos, images, captions, profile fields, and other posts. It includes:
• Videos you record or upload for the short-form video feed, including associated metadata the app needs to display and deliver content (for example, captions, thumbnails where applicable)
• Messaging: direct messages (DMs) you send and receive in the app, including message content and related delivery metadata
• Comments and replies you post on videos
• Information about 1v1 private video calls, such as that a call was placed, its duration, status, and similar operational data required to operate calls, billing, and support. We do not describe the service as recording your calls; we do not intend to store call recordings as a default product feature. If a future feature were to include optional recording, we would describe it clearly and, where required, ask for your consent
c. Usage data
• In-app activity such as likes, follows, views, saves, shares, and interactions with notifications or settings
• How you use features, so we can operate, secure, and improve the service
d. Device and technical data
• Device type, model, and related identifiers the platform provides
• Operating system version
• App version
• IP address and general network or connectivity information, as processed by us or our service providers
• Other technical data used for security, performance, and troubleshooting
• Camera and microphone (with your permission): when you grant access, we use the camera and microphone to enable features you choose, such as recording or uploading short-form video, going live, participating in private 1v1 video calls, and capturing content within the app. You can revoke these permissions in your device settings; some features will not work without them
• Photos / media library (where requested): if the app asks for access to your photo or media library, we use it so you can select images or videos to upload, subject to your permission choices on the device
e. Payment and virtual economy data
• In-app purchases of virtual coins, gifts, subscriptions or tiers we offer, and other digital transactions made through the platform
• On iOS, purchases are typically processed by Apple via the App Store; on Android, by Google via Google Play Billing, in each case subject to Apple’s or Google’s terms and the account you use with that store
• Transaction identifiers, product identifiers, and amounts as needed to process purchases, prevent abuse, credit your account, and show history
• Payment card or wallet details are handled by Apple, Google, or other payment processors as applicable. We do not store your full card details on our systems; that information is provided directly to the payment provider subject to their terms and security practices
f. Optional features
• If you use optional translation, language, or display preferences, we process the data needed to provide those settings and any text sent for translation, as required by the feature
• If you use notification settings or privacy settings (for example, who can message you), we process those choices to apply your preferences
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain core app functionality, including the video feed, direct messaging, 1v1 private video calls, comments, likes, and profiles
- Operate the virtual economy, including coins, gifts, and related in-app purchases, and to show you relevant account or transaction information
- Send you notifications about activity, security, or service updates, according to your settings and applicable law
- Personalize or improve your experience, including language and display preferences where you opt in
- Operate, secure, and improve the service, including analytics, debugging, and product development
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, violations of our terms, and illegal or harmful activity
- Operate moderation, reporting, and trust and safety: review user-generated content and conduct; process reports you or others submit (including the description and context you provide and technical metadata needed to investigate); enforce our Community Guidelines, Terms, and applicable law; and apply outcomes such as removing or restricting content, issuing warnings, suspending accounts, or escalating serious matters to authorities where required
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights and the safety of users
- Communicate with you, including in response to support requests at the contact email below
4. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell your personal data in the sense of selling lists of personal information for money.
We may share or disclose information only in the limited ways described here:
- Service providers who help us run the app, such as cloud infrastructure, authentication, database, video delivery, and analytics, subject to appropriate safeguards
- With Supabase, for example, for account authentication, database, and real-time features as implemented in the app
- With Cloudflare or similar services, for secure delivery of video and related content over the network
- With Apple and Google (and other payment processors), for the sole purpose of processing in-app purchases and virtual transactions through their respective stores or payment systems
- For legal and safety reasons: if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; to protect the security or integrity of the service; to protect the rights, property, or safety of StreamLux, our users, or the public; or in connection with corporate transactions, such as a merger, provided your information is handled in line with this policy
- In aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you, for analytics, research, or reporting
5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
We work to protect your information using industry-standard technical and organizational measures, which may include encryption in transit (such as HTTPS and TLS) where appropriate, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. Access to personal data is limited to those with a need to know for legitimate business purposes.
No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. You can help by using a strong account password, keeping your device and app updated, and not sharing your credentials.
6. USER RIGHTS AND CONTROL
Depending on your location, you may have specific rights under applicable privacy laws. Generally, and where the app offers controls, you may be able to:
- View and update profile information, preferences, and optional fields in the app
- Change or remove your email address, where the app allows
- Control notification preferences (for example, turning off certain alerts)
- Use privacy and permission settings offered in the app, such as who can message you, who can call you, or who can comment, where such options exist
- Request deletion of your account using the in-app account or settings flow we provide (for example, delete account or similar), or by emailing us at the address in Contact Information below with a clear request and “Account deletion” in the subject line. We will verify ownership where needed and process deletion within a reasonable time, subject to Data Retention (for example, limited records we must keep for law, fraud prevention, or disputes)
- Contact us at the same email for privacy questions, data access or correction requests, or appeals related to moderation decisions where we offer a process in the app or by policy
If you are in a jurisdiction that provides additional rights, such as access, correction, or portability, you can contact us using the email below, and we will respond in line with applicable law. We may need to verify your request before we act on it.
7. ACCOUNT TYPES
The app may support or introduce different account types, for example:
- Quick sign-in or "guest" style access that may use a limited set of data and may not require an email, with corresponding limits on account recovery or portability; the app may show which actions work best with a full registered account
- Full registered accounts, typically with an email, that may have access to a wider range of features, purchases, and support options
We collect the information needed to operate the account type you use. The differences, including which features require a full account, are reflected in the app. If you connect or upgrade a limited account, additional information may be collected as described in this policy.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the service, and for legitimate business and legal purposes after you stop using the service. For example, we may keep limited records to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, support safety and integrity, and maintain backups. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable period, except where a longer period is required or allowed by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention or record keeping.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
StreamLux is not intended for children. The app is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the higher age required in your country for valid consent, where applicable. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will take steps to address the matter, including deletion where appropriate.
10. SCREEN RECORDING AND PRIVACY-RELATED BEHAVIOR
On supported platforms, the app may use platform features related to private video calls, such as limiting or detecting screen capture, or showing a notice to participants when a screenshot or similar event may occur, to support privacy and compliance with the experience we design for 1v1 calls. The exact behavior may depend on your device and operating system. This is in addition to our general terms about acceptable use in calls.
11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app relies on service providers, including, for example:
- Supabase, for authentication, database, and real-time data as used in the product
- Cloudflare (or similar), for content delivery and related video infrastructure
- Google, including Google Sign-In where you choose it, and Google Play services (such as Google Play Billing on Android) for purchases and related store operations
- Apple, including Sign in with Apple where offered and the App Store for iOS purchases and related operations
- Payment and billing providers, for in-app purchases and virtual economy features as described above
These services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. This policy does not control how third parties use information; we recommend reviewing their terms where relevant.
12. INTERNATIONAL USERS
If you use StreamLux from outside the country where our service providers or we process data, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries, where data protection rules may differ from your home country. By using the app, you understand and agree to such transfer and processing, to the extent permitted by law, unless we are required to obtain a different basis for a particular location.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the current version in the app (and, if we have one, on our website). If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent, as required by law, such as through the app, email, or a clear notice before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we make changes. Continued use of StreamLux after the effective date may constitute acceptance of the updated policy, where allowed by law.
